A sandwich shop opening in Ujjain has caught attention online for an unusual reason. The event featured a humanoid robot in a role usually reserved for a well-known guest, turning an ordinary business launch into a scene that quickly got people talking.The inauguration took place on Sunday, August 23, in Madhya Pradesh. The robot was brought to the event by Indore-based Bidyut Innovation.

Robot gets a traditional welcome

The humanoid robot arrived at the venue with armed bodyguards and greeted people at the entrance by shaking hands.It was then welcomed with a traditional gesture, with a cloth tied around its neck.The robot also took part in the inauguration ceremony and joined the puja held at the shop.

Industrialist Harsh Goenka shared the video on X and questioned the choice of the robot as the chief guest.He wrote, “A Chinese Unitree robot, allegedly rebadged by Bidyut Innovations a la Galgotias, draped in saffron, with security gunmen in tow, arrives as the chief guest to inaugurate a sandwich shop in Ujjain. Does any of this make sense to you? Only in India!”Social media reactsThe comments section saw a mix of humour and discussion.One user praised the idea as a way to attract attention to the business, writing, “Extraordinary idea.
