Alia Bhatt<\/a> has opened up about motherhood, fears and parenting, revealing that she often questions herself as a parent while raising her daughter Raha. In a candid conversation with Sadhguru on his YouTube channel, the actor shared her concerns, while also seeking advice on raising children in today\u2019s world.\u201cI am a mother to a three-and-a-half-year-old and she is the joy of my life. But I am worried all the time. My father once asked me what it feels like to be a mother, and I said it\u2019s a combination of joy and worry. I\u2019m constantly thinking\u2014am I a good mother? Am I saying the right things?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Children learn life through you\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Alia went on to ask for guidance, adding, \u201cWhat would be your advice to me or any parent today, because children are so beautiful, curious, and they learn life through you in the first few years?\u201dSadhguru responded with humour, asking, \u201cWhat if the parent is not a good parent?\u201d\u2014leaving the actor in splits.\u201cI don\u2019t think you can take worry out of it. You would admit,\u201d Alia added.<\/p>\n

\u2018Who should be the consultant for life?\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Sharing his perspective, Sadhguru said, \u201cWhen you have a child, the first thing is to drop the idea that you have to teach them something.\u201dAs the conversation turned to Raha, he asked, \u201cBetween you and your three-and-a-half-year-old\u2014what\u2019s her name?\u201d\u201cRaha,\u201d Alia replied.\u201cBetween you and her, who is more joyful?\u201d he asked. \u201cShe,\u201d Alia responded.\u201cThen who should be a consultant for life?\u201d he continued. \u201cShe,\u201d Alia smiled, as Sadhguru concluded, \u201cThen what is there for you to teach? You must watch, listen, and observe a child\u2014they are far closer to life than you are.\u201d <\/p>\n

Alia also spoke about the fear of failure, revealing that even her young daughter already shows signs of it.\u201cWe all fear failure. Even now, as my daughter grows up, she always wants to win. If someone else comes first, she\u2019ll say they cheated. I tell her\u2014no, they came first,\u201d she said. The conversation also saw lighter moments, with Sadhguru joking, \u201cI will cry on your shoulder,\u201d prompting Alia to laugh and say, \u201cPlease do, I think crying is very healthy.\u201dWhen he disagreed, she playfully added, \u201cOh no, please don\u2019t tell me that!\u201dAlia and her husband Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their daughter Raha in 2022.<\/div>\n
