For most five-year-olds, eating with a spoon without spilling their meal is a normal thing. But at 5, Avyukt Singh from Noida was living in a world of dinosaurs that was everyday normal. He was so fascinated by the creatures from picture books, films and toys that the young boy from Uttar Pradesh developed such a keen interest in the prehistoric animals that he could identify 46 different dinosaurs in just one minute. And this eventually earned him a place in Guinness World Records. It’s not just the numbers that made his achievement remarkable but all the effort that went into knowing, understanding and learning about them. From studying pictures and memorising names to understanding the distinctive features of different species, Avyukt’s childhood soon became a world record.Meet Avyukt Singh

Avyukt creating one of the most memorable records (PC: Guinness World Records)

Avyukt was just a young baby when he fell in love with dinosaurs. As per Guinness World Records, he enjoys learning about the creatures because every species is different. He has dinosaur books. He loves playing with dino toys that he likes to look at and play with. But what’s interesting here is that the little boy’s fascination extends to their physical characteristics, from their size and speed to their teeth and claws. For Avyukt, dinosaurs are fascinating because each has something distinctive about it. Some were huge, some were fast, and some had interesting features. When asked about his favourite, he said, the Tyrannosaurus rex is the “king of dinosaurs”.The fascination is also something he shares with his mother, Nidhi Sharma. She tells him interesting facts about different species. Avyukt particularly enjoys learning about how large some dinosaurs were, how certain species protected their eggs and how their bodies helped them survive.Avyukt told Guinness World Records that he would love to see dinosaurs in real life. The fancy-dress competition that brought a dinosaur to lifeOne of the most memorable moments in Avyukt’s early dinosaur journey was when he participated in a fancy-dress competition at his school. His mother made him a Tyrannosaurus rex costume which won him the first prize. He remembers roaring as loudly as he could while dressed as the prehistoric animal. Now dinosaurs were no longer just names and pictures in books; they were something he could bring to life through play. His mother eventually encouraged him to attempt a Guinness World Records title. How he prepared to identify 46 dinosaurs in a minute

Avyukt holding his medal and cerficate (PC: Guinness World Records)

Breaking a world record required more than simply being able to recognise a few familiar dinosaurs. According to Guinness World Records, Avyukt studied pictures of different species to learn their names. He also understood what made each one unique. He practised regularly to improve his speed. On the day, his challenge was to identify as many dinosaurs as possible within a 60-second window. Avyukt completed the attempt in Noida on February 8, 2026 and named 46 dinosaurs correctly. He had broken the previous record of 41.An emotional momentThe moment the family received confirmation was emotional. Avyukt recalled that his mother saw the email announcing that his record had been approved. She jumped out of bed and began crying happy tears before hugging him and telling him that he had achieved a Guinness World Records title.A young record holder with more ambitionsHowever, it was just the beginning of his journey. When Guinness World Records spoke to him in July 2026, he said he was excited to continue learning and attempt more records.Subsequent reporting in September 2026 described Avyukt, then six, as having secured additional Guinness World Records recognition, including for identifying cricketers. His growing list of accomplishments suggests that his interest in learning and memorising information extends beyond dinosaurs.

!["Avyukt"]("https://static.toiimg.com/photo/imgsize-114485,msid-135183970/avyukt.jpg" ""Avyukt")
