Katy Perry and Russell Brand<\/a>\u2019s short-lived romance has made headlines once more after the latter shared his unwavering thoughts on Perry\u2019s current partner, Justin Trudeau. The actor has continued to pass comments about his ex\u2019s current relationship ever since the two confirmed their relationship. During one of his recent interviews on \u2018The Megyn Kelly Show\u2019, the actor commented about his ex-wife and her current partner. Brand joked about Perry and Trudeau\u2019s romance and commented, \u201cI\u2019ve put up with a lot with that ex-wife of mine, but you took it too far, KP.\u201d Brand continued his jab, saying, \u201cOrlando Bloom, I love that guy. Brilliant. Justin Trudeau, though, potentially Fidel Castro\u2019s spawn. No, there we draw the line.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2025, the actor attended a Turning Point USA event, where he passed similar jokes about the \u2018Dark Horse\u2019 singer and her romance with the former president of Canada. At the time, while on stage, he commented, \u201cLook, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I\u2019m glad that her mom\u2019s in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man. Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge.\u201dBrand has also continued to comment about his failed relationship with the singer. Last year, during one of his podcast episodes on \u2018Stay Free with Russell Brand\u2019, he shared that he loved her, along with his daughters; however, their marriage did not work out because of \u201cnormal human reasons.\u201dHe had further shared, \u201cWhat can I tell you is, when I was married to Katy Perry, she\u2019s like a\u00ad\u2014not entirely normal. Because she\u2019s an extraordinary, massive star\u00ad\u2014but she\u2019s not weird or off-key, and wasn\u2019t involved in anything nefarious, as far as I could tell. The reasons a marriage didn\u2019t work are the normal human reasons marriages don\u2019t work, and I have nothing but respect for her. Perry and Brand\u2019s relationship lasted for around two years. The two met in September 2009, while she was filming a short cameo for his film, \u2018Get Him to the Greek\u2019. After being married for a year, Brand revealed in December 2011 that the two had called it quits.
