Happy 5th birthday, Lili.” The birthday post offered yet another rare and carefully curated glimpse into the life of the Sussexes’ only daughter, prompting many fans to ask just who Lilibet really is.Here is everything known about Princess Lilibet so far.

The Sussexes welcomed their daughter on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara, California. Her full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. In their official announcement, Meghan and Harry explained that the name pays tribute to Harry’s mother Diana, Princess of Wales, and his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname was Lilibet.Following the announcement, the royal family shared a message of congratulations, noting that Lilibet was Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.

Yes. Lilibet holds a princess title as a grandchild of the UK monarch, a right she gained when King Charles III ascended to the throne. Her parents officially referred to her as Princess Lilibet for the first time in March 2023. A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry explained to the BBC at the time, “The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.“Her nickname within the family is simply Lili.

Over the years, both Meghan and Harry have shared small but revealing details about their daughter’s personality. Harry has spoken about how much Lilibet reminds him of his late mother, Princess Diana. “I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in Archie, and I see a lot of my mom in Lili,” he said in their documentary series. “She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes.” Meghan added, “Blue, blue, blue eyes,” while Harry described her hair as “sort of like a golden reddish.“During an interview on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, Meghan was asked whether there was anything the children did that reminded her of Harry. “Some of the words that they still say with a British accent,” she replied. “They’ll say zeh-bra, and they have these little moments where it comes out. They have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him, and I think it’s adorable.”In October 2025, Meghan spoke about a sweet routine she had developed with Lilibet. “Our daughter, she’s four, and she’s a very strong personality, and she’s incredible,” she shared. “And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn?’ And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast.'”

Meghan has shared snippets of Lilibet’s daily life at their Montecito home, showing her in the garden, playing outside, cooking in the kitchen, and even working on the family’s apiary in a beekeeper’s outfit. At the Sundance Film Festival in January 2026, where Meghan was promoting her documentary ‘Cookie Queens’, she was asked whether Lilibet might follow in her footsteps as a former Girl Scout. Meghan responded thoughtfully, saying, “I think we’ll continue to explore whatever feels right. For both of us working on this project, it’s been incredibly special as parents, as mothers to be able to see something our girls will be able to enjoy and watch as well.“

When Lilibet was just a few weeks old, Harry described her as an easy and contented baby. “We’ve been lucky so far; she’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy,” he said. “Two is definitely a juggle.” In April 2022, he told People that Lilibet had just taken her first steps, adding, “Proud papa, here.”

On June 4, 2026, Meghan shared two new photos of Lilibet to mark her turning five.
