Anil Kapoor<\/a>, who immortalised the role of a common man-turned-Chief Minister in Nayak: The Real Hero, has made it clear that he has no political ambitions in real life.In a conversation with ABP News, the actor was asked if he would like to step into the Chief Minister\u2019s role for a day \u2014 much like his iconic character Shivaji Rao in the 2001 film. Responding candidly, Kapoor said, \u201cI would absolutely not want to become one. I don\u2019t even think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018There are far more capable people doing the job\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

The actor emphasised his respect for those in governance. \u201cI respect all of them. I think there are far more superior people who know this job better and are doing a great job in all the states and in the country,\u201d he said, adding that India is \u201cprogressing and doing so well in every way.\u201dKapoor reiterated that the thought of entering politics has never crossed his mind. \u201cI have never thought about it… I don\u2019t want to even think about it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ll do my bit as a citizen\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my side, I will always try \u2014 as an actor, as a person, as a citizen of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and this planet \u2014 to do whatever I can to make things better,\u201d he said.Highlighting key concerns, Kapoor added, \u201cWhether it\u2019s the environment, climate change, pollution, or spreading happiness and entertainment \u2014 whatever is in my capacity, I will try to do that.\u201dHe concluded by saying that while he has no interest in holding office, he would always support those in leadership roles. \u201cIf anybody is on that job, I would like to contribute in whatever little way I can to make things better.\u201dNayak: The Real Hero, directed by S. Shankar, follows a journalist who gets a one-day opportunity to become Chief Minister and uses it to bring swift reforms \u2014 a storyline that struck a chord with audiences and continues to be widely referenced in political conversations. The film also featured Amrish Puri, Rani Mukerji, Pooja Batra, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Shivaji Satam among others.<\/div>\n
