Supriya Karnik<\/a>, who has worked extensively across Hindi, Marathi, and South cinema as well as television, has opened up about her decision to remain unmarried. At 51, the actress says there isn\u2019t a single, definitive reason behind it.<\/p>\n

\u2018There is no right or wrong person\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Supriya<\/a> said, \u201cThere is no fixed answer. I don\u2019t look for a \u2018right\u2019 or \u2018wrong\u2019 person because such definitions don\u2019t really exist.\u201dShe added that life doesn\u2019t always go as planned. \u201cEither you don\u2019t get married, or you don\u2019t want to. Sometimes you want to, but it doesn\u2019t happen. It\u2019s not a big deal,\u201d she shared.Reflecting on her younger years, the actor revealed, \u201cWhen I was 25\u201326, I wanted to get married. But today, I don\u2019t think that way. And it\u2019s not like I\u2019m depressed because I don\u2019t have a boyfriend or didn\u2019t find someone. If I didn\u2019t find someone, I didn\u2019t\u2014that\u2019s it.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u2018Heartbreak is not limited to romance\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Addressing rumours that she has faced repeated heartbreak in love, Supriya clarified that emotional hurt isn\u2019t limited to romantic relationships. \u201cEven today, I experience heartbreak\u2014but it\u2019s not necessary that it comes from a romantic partner. Anyone can break your heart\u2014a sibling, a friend, or someone close,\u201d she said.She emphasised that while she holds love for everyone, she doesn\u2019t forget people\u2019s actions. \u201cI don\u2019t hate anyone, but I never forget what someone has done to me. I learn from it,\u201d she added.Reacting to speculation about being cheated in love, Supriya responded in her trademark candid style. \u201cIf something like that happened, I would bury it six feet under,\u201d she said, dismissing the narrative. <\/p>\n

\u2018Companionship doesn\u2019t need romance\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

The actress further shared that she doesn\u2019t rely on romantic relationships for companionship. \u201cYou can find companionship in friends and family as well,\u201d she said.She also admitted she doesn\u2019t resonate with conventional ideas of romance. \u201cI don\u2019t understand when people say they\u2019ll bring the moon and stars.
